Remember, wellbeing is not just about that occasional green smoothie or yoga class; it’s about how well you are being in every corner of your life, including relationships, career, and personal growth.
Now, let’s get real, shall we? Have you ever found yourself wondering: “Why does it feel like I’m stuck in this never-ending loop of stress, burnout, and chaos?”
If you’re nodding along, trust me, I see you, and I’ve got your back! As you’ll learn in this episode, it’s been quite a ride for me in this life time. However, all the messyness that was my journey provided the very lessons that I now get to teach the world, and for that I’m grateful.
Wellness starts in the mind, and is influenced by energy…
So how do we get out of the messyness? We start at the mind. Our beliefs have a sneaky way of shaping our reality. In fact, your brain has a little section specifically designed to filter your reality based on the survival programs you learned early in life. 🤯
Fear not, you’ll learn alot about the power of your mind the more you spend time here and I promise that you will become empowered with understanding how to retrain your brain to seek the abundance and positivity you deserve. Ever heard of the Hertz Vibration Scale of Emotions by David Hawkins? (If not, I highly recommend checking out his book, Power vs Force). Here’s the gist: everything we experience in life, from the people we surround ourselves with to our emotions are at their smallest part, just energy. Every aspect of our lives will influence our frequency, leaving us feeling either contracted and depleted or expansive and energized. The goal, is to aim for the latter!
I know what you’re thinking: “Jemaine, this sounds great and all, but how do I put it into action?”
Well, it really is as simple as becoming the observer of our lives. Trust me! This powerful practice of mindfulness is your secret weapon to reclaiming your health, happiness, and inner peace.
Observe your day. Identify what causes you to contract, and what lights you up and makes you feel expansive. What kind of people, conversations, environments, foods, activities leave you feeling energised, and which leave you feeling flat or even depleted. What triggers you? and how do you act (or react) when you’re triggered?
To help you remember to be conscious – because like anything, it’s a practice that gets better with time – I want you to ask yourself these 3 questions;
- What am I focusing on? Is it empowering or disempowering? Does it make the situation and your state of being better, or worse?In relationships, in conflict, in finances, in the mirror, in your day to day – what are you focusing on?
- What does it mean to me? As soon as you decide to focus on something, understand what it means to you. Because whatever meaning you assign to it is going to produce the emotion that will put you in a state to either act or react.
- What am I going to do about it? When you become conscious in the moments you feel triggered, recognise that you have the ability to respond, and how you do that is your choice, it’s the only thing that will determine your outcome. Use your RESPONSE-ABILITY as your call to action. The moment you decide to take 100% responsibility for your life is the moment your entire world will change
It’s that simple. But it takes practice.
