Wellbeing is not what you think it is

Wellbeing is more than just diet and exercise (these are tools).

Wellbeing is how well you are being in all areas of your life, and how your state of being in one area is influencing other areas. It’s the sum of your mindset, emotional state, physical vitality, values alignment, and direction in life, that leads to inner peace expressed in all dimensions.

Wellbeing is not…

Eating healthy and exercising daily whilst feeling exhausted coming home from a job you don’t enjoy, or climbing into bed tired and wired under the mental list of “to-dos”.

Being financially stable yet living in guilt for never being truly present for your children, or resenting your partner for never being home.

Having a fit and toned body yet mentally living in a place of self-loath, self-doubt, anxiety, and “not-enoughness”.

Having all the things you could dream of yet still feeling like something’s missing.  Feeling alone, out of integrity, burnt out, or empty.

With this holistic lens, we can finally stop trying to fix isolated symptoms and start looking at the whole system. The whole you.

It becomes clear to see that there is no “one solution” to improve our health or our self. It is instead, becoming conscious within our lives and intentional with how we are showing up for it.

Awareness proceeds change

The first step to reclaiming wellbeing is to shift from self-doubt, self-loath and self-sabotage into self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-actualisation.

Here’s what it looks like:

Self-Awareness: Becoming conscious of unconscious patterns and belief systems that govern why we do. Awareness allows us to make conscious decisions that influence the quality of people, circumstances, and things we allow and attract into our lives.

Self-Acceptance: Embracing our past and present allows us to move forward with compassion and understanding. We can not change the past, and the present experience is an effect of that past. All we can do is accept where we are now and decide how we want to show up in the next moment.

Self-Actualisation: Taking control of our lives involves a true understanding of self, then living a life aligned with our true values. It means taking responsibility. Recognising that we have the ability to respond in any moment, and how we choose to respond will very much influence our outcome.

These shifts aren’t just feel-good philosophy —they change how we show up in the world. A fulfilling life isn’t one without hardship. It’s one where we meet every challenge as an opportunity to evolve.

A fullfilling life isn't one void of problems. It's one fuelled by solving them

You might be thinking, okay—I get it. But how do I actually shift this in real life?
Let me take you back to where this all began for me.

My journey has been a rollercoaster ride from “life is happening to me” to “life is happening through me.”

Years ago, I felt completely trapped—by my relationship, finances, career, and a body that was breaking down. Busyness and perfectionism had me spiralling. The internal dialogue quietly evolved from:

“I just need a break”
“I need a holiday”
“I wish I could run away”

…to “I wonder if I could bring myself to drive off a bridge.”

It wasn’t depression—it was burnout.
My nervous system was fried. My soul, disconnected. My body, screaming.

Calorie restriction. OCD exercise. Binge eating. Gut issues. Infertility. Sleep deprivation.
I was at war with myself, desperate to control everything outside me in hopes of feeling peace within.

My breakdown was the breakthrough I needed to realise no one was coming to save me.

I was left disillusioned by the medical system, and in my frustration discovered something revolutionary:

I am the medicine.
I always was.

Stress wasn’t the cause, it was a symptom.

That realisation launched me into a new reality.
One where I understood how deeply the stress in my adult life was connected to deep-seated beliefs that I’d carried from childhood. Beliefs that said;

“I had to overachieve for acknowledgement because I was unworthy of love.”

“I had to be self-sufficient, and self-reliant because no one was coming to save me.”

These beliefs shaped my behaviours…
Which reinforced the beliefs…
Which trapped me in a feedback loop of self-sabotage and silent suffering.

Crisis became my catalyst to change.
And my pain became my purpose.

My personal and professional evolution led me on a mission to redefine wellbeing and empower others to reclaim free will over their lives — not by escaping their reality, but by transforming it from the inside out.

This shift in perspective—from doing to being—becomes the turning point.
The moment we stop outsourcing our power and start showing up differently in every area of our lives.

Life is about choice & responsibility

A huge part of becoming a well-being is recognising and reclaiming our personal power in life by embracing choice and responsibility.

We are not at the mercy of our past.
And we are not at the mercy of our stress.

Our life, health, relationships, income, career, and environment is our responsibility. Right now, we all have the ability to change any of these areas if we choose.

Responsibility doesn’t mean fault—it means freedom.
Because the moment you recognise your ability to respond… you take back your power.

How we respond is our reality.

Do I react with anger?
Withdraw in silence?
Speak my truth?
Or stay stuck in survival?

Every moment offers a new way forward.
And with awareness, we get to choose what version of ourselves we meet life with.

The truth of trauma

I know some of you are thinking, “Easy for you to say—I’ve had some horrible things happen to me.”

I get it. Me too.
But even so—healing is still our responsibility.
Because what we don’t heal… we hand down.

When pain is suppressed, it’s expressed through:

  • Cellular dysfunction (dis-ease materialises into disease)
  • Disconnection (in relationships, purpose, identity)
  • Self-sabotage (in every form imaginable)

Healing doesn’t have to mean reliving the past.
It’s an energy pivot—from reflection to activation.
From the story that shaped you… to the frequency you choose to shape your future with.

The role of energy and mind

Understanding the connection between energy and mind is crucial for creating real and sustainable change within our lives. In episodes one and nine of It’s All Wellness, I explain both the neuroscience and the natural laws behind this truth.

Here’s a sneak peek:

Everything is energy: From our emotions and thoughts, to the material things in our surrounds, it’s all energy. With awareness of how energy works you become empowered to truly manifest health, wealth, and happiness into your life.

It’s mind over matter: The thoughts that we energise influence not only our immune cells, hormones, and physical health, but filter and distort how we view reality, influencing the decisions that shape our future moments.

Consciousness is becoming the observer: Once we observe our patterns, we can reprogram them. It’s that simple. Elevating in consciousness is where our power lies.

Become conscious of:

Your moment-to-moment energy: What lights you up? What leaves you feeling depleted?

Areas of life that are on autopilot: Is the way you’re showing up aligned to what you truly desire?

Where suppressed emotional pain is trying to express: What triggers you emotionally? Where do you hold chronic or recurrent symptoms in your body? What patterns keep repeating in your relationships?

It's not just about what you do, but who you are being in every moment

It’s not just about what you do,
but who you are being in every moment

If we truly want to create transformational change in our lives – sustainable change, we must remember these truths:

No one is coming to save you. We must take responsibility for our state of being in every moment, choosing what we create in the next.

Awareness proceeds change. The medicine we seek is unique to our personal journey. We must therefore stop outsourcing and turn within.

Healing is awakening consciousness. Rather than “Why me” we instead ask “What is there to learn?” and in doing to we move from:

“Life is happening to me”, to

“Life is happening for me”, to

“Life is happening through me”This is the magic pill we’ve been search for.
